why i created the embodied mother

Hello! If you don’t know me, I’m Charlotte. I would love to have an image here of me and my daughter here, but sadly I don’t trust people on the internet enough to do that.

But, I have a daughter, and becoming a mother was a whole lot more of everything than I ever expected. More love, more resentment, more tiredness, more joy… you get the idea.

Despite having lots of therapeutic tools and helpful people to speak to before I became a mum, I found myself a year in, in a hole of resentment, confusion around my needs, and questioning how my world had got so rocked after feeling so steady before giving birth.

Somatic therapy didn’t only help transform that experience for me, but it gave me a relationship with my body, and my inner wisdom I had not accessed before, despite having engaged with a lot of therapy.

However, if there’s one thing that has always been true for me in healing and feeling different in my life it’s this - it’s never only one thing.

It is always a holistic concoction of things that have supported me. That is exactly what The Embodied Mother is.

The deep therapeutic work where you also get to befriend your body. The daily reframing, embodiment and mindset work that keeps prevents you from holding on and waiting to resolve everything from one therapy session to the next. And, the education that removes doubt from the whole process and actually adds to deepening your experience because you understand what is going on.

  • I get it, when you’re overwhelmed it can feel like there is never enough time.

    The minimum commitment per week of this journey is:

    1x hour therapy session

    1x daily 10-min practice

    1x weekly bitesized lesson and practice (15-30mins)

    Change often requires change, and a commitment. If you are still uncertain, then please book a call to discuss it further. You can do so here.

  • No pre-requisites are required, you will be completely supported throughout this journey.

    This is about befriending and reconnecting to your body, not ‘getting it right’.

  • Somatic work bypasses the “overthinking” loop and taps into your body’s innate wisdom. If talk therapy left you stuck in your head, this could be the missing piece.
