Feeling stuck is not something to be ashamed of. In fact, most people will experience it at some point in their lives.
For mothers, giving birth, or becoming a mother can accelerate or bring on this feeling of being stuck.
Whether it’s early on or several years down the line of motherhood.
You might feel stuck in a certain experience like: rigidity, overthinking, resentment, stress, overwhelm, or recurring conflict.
Or perhaps stuck in a sense of not quite feeling settled or like you belong.
You may have tried to ignore or resolve these feelings of dis-ease or discontentment.
You may have a stubborn self-reliance that wants to work it all out alone.
Perhaps you’ve even tried therapy and it worked for some time but hasn’t had a lasting impact.
Whatever has come before now, one thing is true - there’s a knowing within that something needs to change.
You don’t really want to be in control of every little thing.
You don’t really want to feel like stress gives you the energy to get through.
You don’t really want to go and hide instead of spending present time with your family.

Your body keeps the score - and holds the medicine

The aim of somatic therapy is to
Resolve and integrate the protective layers you have developed - usually these show up as the masks and patterns. E.g. people pleasing, not holding boundaries, feeling defensive, keeping your life small in certain ways.
Heal the wounds that are being protected - typically scenarios where you have not felt seen, heard, or empowered. E.g. you preferences not being respected as a child, your choices being ignored, a birth where you felt powerless.
It can feel scary to feel what’s been suppressed, hidden or stuck in the body. After all, it’s been hidden for a reason.
Trauma and wounds stored in the body don’t go away, they build over time, as we build more layers of protection or avoidance on top of them.
There will never be a better time than now to start befriending your body.
This fear is also the very reason we will focus together on building real, felt, safety within your system.
Somatic therapy is not about overwhelming or pushing your system into an uncomfortable state. It is about you getting to know you nervous system, and integrating the trauma or wounds that are present.
As it starts to feel safe for you to feel the things that have been stuck or frozen, we can create the space for them to thaw, or flow.
This is what creates the change in perspective and experience in your life. Flow creates flow, it will permeate all areas of your life.

The Embodied Mother is a 4-month somatic journey. A supportive, holistic 1:1 experience for mothers who are ready to feel the change that they know is possible. For mothers who not only want to enjoy life, but embody the mother that envisioned they would become.
Inside The Embodied Mother
1:1 Somatic Therapy (online)
Across 12 sessions, we will hold space for the innate healing of old wounds and experiences that are blocking you in your today. This supports your nervous system to come into coherence, and make life feel like something you can respond to with choice, rather than react to powerlessly.
Therapeutic Resource Library
Somatic healing is a body-first approach. In my experience, we can surrender more deeply to the body’s wisdom when our rational mind understands the process.
The resource library supports you to understand some of the neuroscience, as well as offering you additional tools to work on or understand certain aspects of healing. Such as integrating grief, exploring boundaries, and developing interoception.
Daily Embodiment and Mindset practices
With 10-years personal healing experience, and having worked with mothers for 3-years, I have a bank of practices that can be supportive to your overall experience of healing, and creating change.
I firmly believe in a holistic approach to all aspects of living - it’s rarely just one thing that supports us.
Suggested practices that you can bring into your day to day offer the opportunity to integrate embodied living into your life, for truly sustainable and long-lasting change.

I get it, when you’re overwhelmed it can feel like there is never enough time.
The minimum commitment per week of this journey is:
1x hour therapy session
1x daily 10-min practice
1x weekly bitesized lesson and practice (15-30mins)

This is about befriending and reconnecting to your body, not ‘getting it right’.
